A Boy and His Dog!

While Leyton is still a bit unsure, Landon on the other hand is in love! We surprised him and went and got the puppy while he was in school and I popped his little head out of the window when Landon came to the car. He said his current favorite word "SWEET" and I knew we made his day! He held Presley all the way home hushing his brother saying he was sleeping and Leyton was interrupting him. He looks quite good with Presley doesn't he, lets hope the excitement doesn't wear off!

Our New Addition!

Not what you think :) After telling the boys (all 3) that we could get a dog for a year we took the plunge. We found out from friends of ours that 2 pregnant dogs were left at a foreclosed home that happened to be just right down road from us. When the new owners came to the house they found the dogs and luckily were animal lovers and took care of the dogs and their puppies when they were born, VERY generous people because I think there ended up being 13 or so puppies between them :O This litter is a lab/golden mix and since they are both notorious for being so good with kids we couldn't resist! Our friends ended up adopting one of the boys and named him Elvis and Landon thought for sure it had to have a name that goes with it since they are brothers. Dan suggested Presley and it stuck. So meet the newest member of our family 7 week old Presley!

Leyton is not quite sure yet

Not that we are counting or anything...

HA yeah right! As any waiting adoptive parent can tell you, we are definitely counting as the months go by. SEVEN months wow, why does 7 sound SO much longer than 6???

And as each day passes I am filled with thoughts about our daughter. Could she possibly be born yet? Most likely not, but most definitely conceived. I can't help but think about her mother and how is she feeling, physically and emotionally? Does she have support in this certainly difficult time? My heart goes out to her and I think of her each and every day and I assume not a day will go by that I will ever not think of her.

Prayers Needed

Please join us in praying for sweet little Stellan. See the link on the side of my page for more information, but this little guy needs all the prayers we can give him and his family right now.

Leyton Funnies

Is 3 not the best age? This kid cracks me up! So far this week he has asked "Hey, who put the ball in my foot" as he realized he has the bones on the side of his ankles. And just a bit ago said "Mom, my hand cracked" as he realized he has lines on his fingers and palm! Built in entertainment these kids lol!!!!!!!

Ok how many of you reached down and felt the bones on the side of your ankles ;)

SIX

Dan and I have finished up our individual interviews and have only 2 more meetings with our social worker and the homestudy process should be finished! We basically got to sit and talk about ourselves for an hour or so. It helps that we love our social worker so for me it was like sitting and talking to a friend. I am trying to get everything in that we need to get finished as quickly as possible since we put it off for so long. So over the next few weeks we have physicals for all 4 of us(split into 3 different appointments ugh), a joint interview and the home visit. I think I will be relieved when April is over!

We did find out that we are 6 on the waiting list for a little girl (if all goes accordingly anyhow)! It is exciting to get into the lower numbers, but I can only imagine what it is like to be 1 or 2. I think you may have to surgically remove the phone from my hand, it will be with me at all times lol!

S. Korea's Flag

Landon goes to a local Montessori school and when I observed his class last week I noticed they didn't have a South Korean flag and figured no better time then the present to order them for our family and for the school. Landon was so excited to take one to his class and talk it being the flag of S. Korea which is where his sister is coming from!

The Family Nobody Wanted

I have wanted to adopt since I was a young girl. My Mom gave me a book that was hers when she was herself a young girl called The Family Nobody Wanted. The book made a huge impact on me and since then I have always known adoption would be a part of my life in some way or another. For a long time I thought my career path into Social Work would be that impact, but here we sit heading down a path that makes adoption a much more intimate blessing in our lives and it feels, hmm hard to put into works, but it just feels right :)

SIX

Wow 6 months have gone by, hard to believe! It has been quite an interesting 6 months for our family to say the least. A 2 day stay in the hospital with Dan and many many Dr appt's was definitely not the highlight, but it has certainly forced me to put myself in God's hands like I never dreamed. We had to take some time to refocus our lives and our family around our new reality, but we are putting 2008 behind us and looking forward to a healthy more positive 2009 with hopefully new and exciting beginnings :)

So back to the blogging trail it is. We are SO excited to have moved up quite a bit on the waiting list over these past 6 months. I was lucky enough to meet another Mom who just received her referral for her daughter in February and to actually hold the picture of her absolutely gorgeous daughter was so surreal! To think that it will be us one day gave me chills.
